September: Thoughts from Huw

Dear Friends

Autumn is a time for cooling off after the long hot lazy and hazy days of summer.  It is back to darker nights, green leaves falling, conker fights and lingering mists. For some it`s the dread of going back to school or the thrill of starting college.  For others it is the joy of singing along to the Last Night of the Proms and tapping feet to the return of Strictly Come Dancing.  There are relieved sigh's  of `it`s back to autumn` and for the people called Methodists there is excitement and enthusiasm about the start of another new year in the life of the church.

The Methodist New Year will bring its usual times of work and play, success and failure, hard work, faith and friendship.

Let no one in this church be lonely or feel left out.  May no one suffer because of how others treat  them.  As we sing `Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live…here the love of Christ shall end divisions…all are welcome in this place.`

Let us begin this year in hope, in prayer and in friendship.

Our next church growth meeting is on Thursday 13th September at 7.30pm in the choir vestry. This is an open meeting for everybody .  Please come with your ideas and questions. The theme is `Communications.`  All are welcome.

Best wishes
Huw
