Holy God, it is with awe and wonder this day that we come to worship you. We worship and praise your holy, glorious, and wonderful name. We open our lives and hearts to you, and we ask by the power of your Holy spirit, that our worship will not be just restricted to a Sunday, but will be all who we are, all that we are and all that we do. We worship you our awesome God. Amen

Let Us Pray
Almighty God, you created all things and designed each intricate detail of our world. We thank you for the vast and varied world which you have provided for us, and we are sorry for the times when we have not played our part in sustaining your world. We are sorry for the times when we have let you down, for the times when we have not followed your perfect example. So, we seek your forgiveness this day. We hear your words, you are forgiven, and we are truly thankful for them. We thank you for your love which constantly flows for us, and because of this love, may we share your love with the world as a gift to the world from you.
In the Name of Christ Amen.
Psalm 145
I will worship (I will worship)
With all of my heart (with all of my heart)
I will praise You (I will praise You)
I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise his greatness no one can fathom.One generation commends your works to another they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendour of your majesty and I will meditate on your wonderful works.They tell of the power of your awesome works and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
‘The Methodist way of life’ Worship
What does the word worship mean to you? A good sing on a Sunday morning? collectively gathering for worship? studying the bible? or finding God in nature?
On Sunday morning this week, we will be looking at the theme of worship, and what that looks like within our lives as the people called Methodists.
From the inference in my statement here, and from my opening question, I am sure you will have worked out that our worship is to be much more than singing a hymn, saying a prayer, or turning up for church on a Sunday morning. It is a call upon our whole lives. Offering all we have, all we do, and all we say, as an act of Worship to our almighty God, each day of our lives.
Some questions to ponder
How and where do you worship God?
How has your understanding of worship changed or developed whilst in lockdown?
Which is your favourite hymn and or bible passage, and how do these things enable you to express words of worship to God?
A time of prayer
Loving God, we come before you this day and offer you our prayers.
We pray for those who cannot worship because they are persecuted for their faith. We pray for those places in the world affected by war. May your lasting peace come to this earth.
We pray for those who are ill and in need of your healing.
We pray for those who are homeless and hungry.
We bring before God our own prayers.
We offer these prayers into Gods hands. Amen
We share together in the words of the Lords’ Prayer.
Hymn All people that on earth do dwell StF 1
All people that on earth do dwell,
sing to the Lord with cheerful voice:
him serve with mirth,1 his praise forth tell,
come ye before him and rejoice.
The Lord, ye know, is God indeed;
without our aid he did us make:
we are his folk, he doth us feed,
and for his sheep he doth us take.
O enter then his gates with praise,
approach with joy his courts unto;
praise, laud, and bless his Name always,
for it is seemly so to do.
For why? the Lord our God is good,
his mercy is for ever sure;
his truth at all times firmly stood,
and shall from age to age endure.
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
the God whom heaven and earth adore,
from men and from the angel host
be praise and glory evermore.
William Kethe, (fl 1559-died 1594) LM
A final blessing
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above, ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
