Nov: Thoughts from Huw
Dear Friends
The story goes that a little girl was with her family in a party being showed around one of the cathedrals. As the guide was explaining an historic tomb nearby, the little girl was staring at a great stained glass window through which the summer sun was streaming, bathing the cathedral floor in colour. As the group was about to move on she asked the guide in a shrill clear voice, ‘Who are those people in the pretty window?’
‘Those are the saints’ the man replied.
That night as she was getting ready for bed she told her mother, ‘I know who the saints are’.
‘Do you dear?' replied her mother ‘Who are they?’
‘They are the people who let the light shine through’
In November, the season of remembrance, we thank God for the saints who have touched our lives.
At Wesley on Wednesday 6th November at 6.30pm we will be holding our annual service of remembering loved ones. A short but simple service of readings, hymns, music and the lighting of candles to remember loved ones who have died but who we continue to cherish in our hearts and minds. Following the service tea and coffee will be served.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend. Please tell family and friends and come along to celebrate the people who let the light shine through.
I look forward to welcoming you.
With good wishes
