Oct: Thoughts from Huw
Dear Friends
`Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight’ (Proverbs Ch v5)
Sometimes people can get hurt when they are let down by others. Our best relationships are built and based on trust: trusting that what people tell us is true; trusting another’s loyalty and friendship; trusting another’s commitment. We are human and struggle sometimes to trust, not knowing if the other person will be trustworthy enough. We learn about trusting from good times of trust and also from bad times. Everyone of us has probably had some moments of being let down, at home, in Church, at work and of course with family and friends. At times we feel like never trusting again.
Maybe it’s one of the best gifts we can give to each other, the ability to trust, and we can ask ourselves how trustworthy we are.
God is someone we can trust; God is always loving and faithful. Each time we trust we share in the life of God, who is trustworthy in this life and into an eternity of joy and love.
I came across this prayer to share with you;
God our Father, teach us to trust. Give us openness to listen to each other and not to judge; to give the best interpretation to what others say; to feel with them in suffering, pain and also in joy. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
With good wishes
