Sept: Thoughts from Huw
Dear Friends
September is the beginning of the new Methodist Church year. We look back over the past year thanking God for the His wonderful love for each and every one of us. Now with expectant and hopeful hearts we look to God for the year ahead.
What will this year bring at Wesley? It will likely bring its usual times of worship, work, meetings and more meetings. It will bring experiences of success and failure, all the things that are part of church life. But it is a new beginning; the planting of a seed that will grow for a year, the seed of fruit that will blossom in times to come. It offers new hope; hope for working together, for friendship, for fun, for learning about the Christian life. May there be hard work, faith and friendship. May no one in this church be lonely; may no one feel left out. May no one suffer because of how others here treat them. As we begin this new Methodist year in hope, in prayer and in friendship, may God begin it with us, be with us during it, and successfully bring it to its conclusion.
May we who have received the love of God at Wesley, spread this love wherever we are. In this coming year may we share the love, kindness and compassion of God in our Church, Community and Circuit.
With good wishes and prayers
Huw.
